The recent historic investments in affordable housing will have a significant impact in tackling homelessness and responding to housing need in communities throughout BC.
However, in some communities, these much-needed projects face substantial barriers as they move through the municipal approval process. From Penticton to Langley, Gibsons to Fort St.John, fears, perpetuated myths and complicated public consultation processes have contributed to divisive discourse on social media and in open houses across BC. We’re here to help overcome those local barriers. The BC Non-Profit Housing Association provides hands-on support to our members and other community stakeholders who are looking to open up constructive dialogue on the topic of affordable housing. We want to help you bring facts to the table and activate the silent majority that is too often overshadowed by a handful of fearful voices.
